Reprise des fouilles – 19/09 au 03/10/2016 et journée « fouilles ouvertes » le 27/09/2016

« Journée fouilles ouvertes » – mardi 27 septembre 2016

Entre le 31 mai au 6 juin 2010, une première phase des fouilles a permis de mettre à jour une partie réduite du site. Ce chantier archéologique avait été prévu par Daniel Spoerri dès l’origine.

Aujourd’hui, en raison de travaux importants qui affecteront la partie arrière du bâtiment principal du domaine du Montcel la dernière partie non encore fouillée du Déjeuner sous l’herbe fera l’objet d’une seconde campagne qui se déroulera du 19 septembre au 3 octobre 2016.

A cette occasion, une journée « fouilles ouvertes » sera organisée le mardi 27 septembre 2016 au domaine à partir de 11h et jusqu’à 16h. En présence de Daniel Spoerri et d’autres participants et personnalités présentes au banquet. Nous exposerons les premiers résultats des enquêtes archéologiques et ethnographiques de cette civilisation disparue.

« Open Excavation Day » – tuesday 27th september
Due to important landscaping projects at the back of the main building of the domaine du Montcel in Jouy-en-Josas (France), an important part of the « Déjeuner sous l’herbe » not yet discovered will be the subject of a second archeological excavation ; between the 19th of septembre and the 3rd of octobre 2016.
Nearby the excavation site, in attendance of participants of the original banquet that gathered more than 100 artistic figures from that period, around a menu of guts and tripe, we will adress the 27th of septembre 2016 between 11 AM and 4 PM the most striking aspects of this action, and present the first results of the archeological and ethnographic research.
